Barcelona shatter PSG with an insane 6-1 victory in Champions League

The crowd at Camp Nou went berserk as Barcelona pulled off an astonishing, impossible win against PSG which seemed incredibly impossible after losing 4-0 in their first leg

If you thought India’s victory against Australia the previous evening was nail biting, spare a thought gentlemen—Barcelona just pulled off the greatest Champions League comeback ever.

It was coming. It was coming. It was coming. The roaring thunder that erupted at Camp Nou after a sensational free kick from Neymar in the 88th minute had set the pace to an otherwise dead and buried team 10 minutes ago. The 91st minute saw Luis Suarez take a tumble inside the penalty box, which Neymar netted with elegance. The crowd at Camp Nou were jumping with excitement with the sheer possibility of what looked like an impossible win.

The game was a tie now, the aggregates were levelled. However, the Paris Saint-German still lead the tally riding on a precious away goal from Cavani. However, what happened after that was purely insane. Barcelona was trying hard, pushing harder, running for each breath, and then the clock showed that only 30 seconds were left.

Foul. Free-kick given. Neymar shoots the ball into the penalty area; and man, there was Sergi Roberto, who got in behind the defence to volley past Trapp and sent the crowd at Camp Nou into an explosion of joy and elation that knew no bounds.

Luis Enrique was seen galloping down the touchline, celebrating like there’s no tomorrow—and giving a tight embrace to the man of the match Neymar, who came all running down to him.

Down to 4-0 in the first leg, Barcelona had scored three goals in an hour and brought the aggregate to 4-3. However, all hopes came crumbling down when Cavani scored an away goal—now, they needed to score three goals, if at all they were to go into the quarter-final. Well, it seemed impossible, it should’ve, and it was had it not been heroic that the Brazilian Neymar displayed on the field. Pure magical stuff!

Luis Suarez was the first to open the accounts for Barcelona when he headed a bouncing ball off Thiago Silva’s head into the net from close range. It was a shocker for PSG when 40 minutes later, Layvin Kurzawa deflected a flick from Andrés Iniesta into his own goal. A penalty from Messi five minutes after the half-time, and then it was all Neymar and his glory galore.

Meanwhile, PSG would be feeling pretty horrible to have successfully managed an absurd defeat at the hands of Barcelona. They must be hurt about that Di Maria miss! It’s going to be a long ride home.
