After a lot of hustle and bustle between the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding revenue issues, the Indian cricket board has finally announced a 15 member squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy. The squad announced doesn’t have many changes than those which played the ODI series against New Zealand and England at home in 2016 but it also raises question after few well deserving talents were not given a chance in this world tournament.

Players like Rishabh Pant, Gautam Gambhir, Nitish Rana and Robin Uthappa have been totally overlooked. These few players have been in best of their form in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and have attracted almost every eyeball through their batting performance.

However, Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Shami are picked for the tournament.

But what attracted the social media users was Shikhar Dhawan’s pick. Despite the inconsistent performance, Shikhar Dhawan got a spot in the team which probably is the most shocking element of every cricket follower. Prior to the IPL 2017, Shikhar Dhawan had continuously failed to perform with his bat. Earlier, it was also speculated as well that he might get dropped. His selection gave a reason to troll him on the social media and this is how Twitterati reacted on the same.

Well, now Dhawan has the only option left with him and that is to get back into his old skin and play furiously as he played in the Champions Trophy 2013. After getting selected in the 15-member squad, this is how Shikhar Dhawan celebrated the moment.
