With one Test to go against Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli’s team India has already taken an unassailable 1-0 lead. If one looks at the performance of team India, they would realise that most of the grey areas have been covered and the final creases need to be ironed out.
So, here are a few things, team India could experiment before their much-awaited overseas trip.

Rohit Sharma at 4:
Ajinkya Rahane has not lived up to the billing and that is disappointing, but Rohit Sharma has optimised his selection by smashing a ton. So in all probability, Rohit would be taking the flight on December 27. What coach Ravi Shastri could try is send Rohit in at 4 which will make him more confident.
Kuldeep Yadav gets a game:
In South Africa, pitches will not offer a lot of spins for Ashwin and Jadeja to utilise, but for a wrist spinner like Kuldeep Yadav, he does not need to depend on the pitch to get the turn. Wrist spinners can turn the ball on any given surface and hence it is highly advisable to give the youngster a game. Kuldeep has proved his mettle and has shown he is on the right track.

Saha could play 6:
Wriddhiman Saha has an immaculate technique and that could be beneficial on fast-paced tracks. But the problem with Saha is that he has been shuffled too many times in the line-up, which means, he is still carrying unsure about his exact role in the side. So, if Saha plays 6, Ashwin will play 5. That is ideal considering Ashwin likes the ball coming on to the bat.
