3 reasons why Indian bowlers will struggle in South Africa

Team India has already reached South Africa and started their practice session too.

The South African series will not be easy for the Indian pace quartet of Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav. The Indian pacers have had a good 2017 and are brimming with confidence. And, they will be expected to perform exceptionally well and help India win overseas. This will certainly be India’s stiffest contest for a long time and we feel, the Indian bowlers may have a tough time performing well in South Africa.

Kookaburra and not SG:

Indians are used to bowling with the SG ball, but in South Africa, they will be presented a Kookaburra ball. For example, Bhuvneshwar Kumar who relies a lot on the swing will not be able to swing the ball after 25-30 overs.

Bounce:

For an Indian bowler, who is used to putting in a lot of effort for the ball to bounce in an Indian pitch, the situation might be the complete opposite in South Africa. And so, using the bounce to their advantage will be all the more important for the bowlers. The Indian bowlers could get predictable if they do not use the bouncer wisely.

Lack of overseas experience:

Apart from Ishant Sharma, who has played 44 overseas Tests, the others aren’t that experienced and this could be a challenge for the rest of the Indian bowlers.
