Adam Gilchrist: Shaun Tait is the fastest bowler I have kept to

England will be touring Australia with the first Ashes Test starting on November 23

Former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist revealed the bowler he found difficult to keep against. It is a surprise that it is not Brett Lee or Shane Warne, something many people may have been guessing. Adam Gilchrist revealed Shaun Tait is the fastest bowler he has kept to. Adam Gilchrist was arguably the best batsman-wicketkeeper to have played for Australia. He has also been a part of Australia’s 2003 and 2007 cricket World Cup winning squad as well.

The 45-year-old believes Tait`s spell in a one-off T20I match against New Zealand at the WACA in 2007 was the sharpest he has ever kept to.

“Tait bowling at the WACA down-breeze. Evening.T20. Knowing he`s only got four overs max to bowl. That was probably the fastest spell of bowling that I`ve kept to,” cricket.com.au quoted Gilchrist as saying.

“Keeping to Tait that day reminded me of the joy of keeping. Standing so far back and just the fun. Wondering what`s coming, where it’s going. Diving around and having a laugh while you’re doing it,” Gilchrist added.

Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden were impeccable at the top of the order and were the reason why Australia dominated the cricket world from 2000-2010.

The Australian cricket team led by Steve Smith will soon be marshalling the national side when they lock horns with old foes, England for the coveted Ashes series. England will be touring Australia with the first Ashes Test starting on November 23.
