Afghanistan Under-19 team created history on November 19 by beating Pakistan Under-19 team in the Asia Cricket Council Under-19 Asia Cup at Kuala Lumpur. Afghanistan played like champions in the final outclassing their opponent in every department of the game. Afghanistan won by a huge margin of 185 runs as they bundled out Pakistan for a lowly score of 63 in 22.1 overs.
Mujeeb Zadran starred in the second innings as he picked up a five-wicket haul destroying Pakistan batting lineup. right from the beginning. Qais Ahmed too picked up three wickets and supported Zadran from the other end. Only two Pakistani batsmen could score in double digits while others struggled to keep their wickets intact. Pakistan innings even had four maiden overs which shows the immense amount of pressure generated by Afghan bowlers.
Afghanistan set a score of 248 for 9 in the first innings, thanks to wicketkeeper-batsman Ikram Faizi’s unbeaten 107 from 113 balls featuring 10 fours and 2 sixes.
