The whole cricketing world seems to be smitten by the push-up challenge. First, we saw Indian captain Virat Kohli challenge his fans for a one-hand push-up and now, Virat Kohli’s female counterpart Mithali Raj has joined the bandwagon. Recently, Mithali Raj took to Twitter to challenge all her fans for a push-up challenge. Mithali Raj, who has scored the most runs by a batswoman in the history of the game in limited overs format tagged some of her colleagues to do the challenge. In the post, she tagged and hence challenged Veda Krishnamurthy and Vanitha from the Women’s Indian Cricket team and Chloe Tryon from South African team.
Earlier in the year, Mithali Raj led team India to the finals of the Women’s World Cup. During the tournament, she was in a rich form and that certainly helped the team do well.
Another aspect comes to the fore after watching the two Indian captains doing the challenge is the fact that fitness is of utmost importance for both of them, and in cricket nowadays, being fit and in shape could be the gamechanger.
Mithali Raj’s challenge is a part of an advertising campaign for Garnier Men.

Mithali Raj is in the twilight of her career and only her fitness could ensure that she plays a couple of more seasons.
Here is Virat Kohli attempting the same challenge but he is not endorsing a product, rather only challenging his fans to a one-hand push-up.

We hope the next generation gets inspired by these two legends and keeps the focus on their fitness.
