Yes, you read that right! India’s vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane sends out Holi wishes through his Twitter handle but without any colours. Though, he did not try to offend anyone and just posted a thumbs-up selfie sitting in his car. He along with most of the Indian players are back home for Holi break in between the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series against Australia.
After winning the Bengaluru Test and levelling the Test series, India will be playing against the Aussies at Ranchi in a historic Test as Dhoni’s hometown will be hosting it’s first ever Test match. Rahane helped India pull off a miraculous comeback in the Bengaluru Test after a disappointing first inning score as he could contribute 17 runs only to the cause.
He was criticised for his place in his side ahead of Karun Nair despite his mediocre performance but he preferred to let his bat do the talking. In the second innings, he along with Pujara rescued India and gave them a fighting chance by sharing an 118-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Rahane played a gem of an innings to drag India’s second innings out of danger as he scored 52 off 134 balls before Mitchell Starc worked his magic and trapped him in front of the wickets. His half-century gave India a fighting chance to get the Australians bundled out on the fourth day despite India’s yet another batting collapse.
Earlier Rahane was heavily trolled for his non-performance in the infamous Pune Test despite almost every batsman failing to perform. He was heavily trolled on Twitter and a few Twitterati even named his replacement for the next match as triple centurion Karun Nair. Though, he was able to shut haters mouth with his performance and repaid skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Anil Kumble for backing him.
