Another day of Ashes 2017-18 belonged to Australia as they put on a decent first innings score in the Adelaide pink ball Test. Shaun Marsh starred as he silenced the critics with by scoring his 5th Test century. The unfortunate collision between Alastair Cook and James Vince happened in the 145th over of Australia’s first innings on Day 2. Chris Woakes came round the wicket to Marsh trying to bowl the bang short and create problems for the left-handed batsman and that’s exactly what happened except the result that he wanted.
Marsh edged the ball between the second slip and the gully. Cook ran towards his left and Vince to his right. Both the players had their eyes on the ball but none of them called for the catch. As a result of the miscommunication between the two they banged into each other. Both the players did not suffer from any injuries as a major accident was averted.
What could have been a wicket ended up in an embarrassing dropped catch. Woakes was left completely baffled as he looked towards Cook-Vince not knowing how to react to the dropped chance. Here’s the video of the incident –
