This report is a shocker to everyone as Team India’s Head Coach under whom India has excelled in Test cricket winning 6 Test series on the trot might get sacked from his position. Anil Kumble recently wrote a letter to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) telling them that Virat Kohli and the team want to play in the tournament starting June 1 in England & Wales as they are the ‘Defending Champions’ of the tournament.

Although there have been reports that India are set to feature in the tournament and the squad for the same will be announced on May 8 which has got delayed beyond the deadline and had everyone worried. BCCI can still pull off from the tournament.

According to media reports, a senior BCCI Official said, “It is the institution which decides and not one individual. Kumble writing to the board about his decision of wanting to play in the Champions Trophy was uncalled for. He had no business in doing this.” Here’s one statement that might break many cricket fans’, “The visa procedure (for the United Kingdom) will take time, while the option to withdraw is always there.”

The reports of India playing Champions Trophy has made headlines as former cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid have urged BCCI to allow them to feature in the tournament. Other cricketers too have voiced their opinions on the matter.

India have already passed the deadline of announcing their squad whereas all the other seven sides have done it already. If Kumble gets sacked, there will be much outrage among the fans.
