During the last over of a match, if a destructive Kieron Pollard is on strike with 15 runs to win, here’s what not to do. Ankit Rajpoot pulled away from his runup at the last moment, and then (strangely) then winked at Pollard.
Needless to say things did not go well for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) fast bowler after that. He bowled a no ball which was hit so hard by the stand-in Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper that the one-handed shot went over the ropes for a maximum.
Not easy to walk out of a dugout to bowl the last over, and the free hit ball was a gift to the Caribbean giant who flicked the full toss off his hips for a boundary. The KXIP bowler had already conceded 11 runs off just one legal delivery. In the end, he gave 52 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
With just 4 runs needed off 5 balls, Twitter was all geared up to troll the fast bowler whose wink is now the talk of the town:
SOMEONE MAKE A GIF OUT OF THAT ANKIT RAJPOOT WINK. ASAP!!! #MIvKXIP

Rajpoot did get the wicket of Pollard off the next balls followed by a dot ball. But cool-headed Alzarri Joseph ensured there is no anti-climax to the story and won the match for MI off the last ball. In short, he could not redeem himself after that wink to rile up an in-form batsman.
