Ashish Nehra did not get a wicket in his retirement game at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium but he did something special to entertain the crowd. Nehra in the 16th over was fielding at the fine leg position. Yuzvendra Chahal was bowling to Tim Southee. Chahal bowled one on the pads and it went towards the fine leg. Nehra chased the ball but instead of picking it up and throwing it back he used his dribbling skills. Nehra managed to kick the ball up, catch it, turn around and throw it back to MS Dhoni. As Nehra was busy dribbling with the ball, Virat Kohli could not control his excitement and cheered and clapped for him.
As Kohli cheered for him, Nehra replied to him by laughing it off. Even Chahal was impressed with the effort and raised his hands over his head and clapped. Nehra was agile in the field, he did not misfield once in his last international match.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted the video and tagged Yuvraj Singh in it as well. Here’s the video –
How’s that for footy skills from our very own Nehraji? What do you make of that @YUVSTRONG12 😉 #INDvNZ pic.twitter.com/YaTeJk5d0t

Nehra was denied a wicket twice in his farewell match. Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni dropped the catches, had they caught hold of the ball Nehra would have got two wickets added to his bowling figures in his last T20I.
The 38-year-old got the perfect farewell as India won their first ever T20I against New Zealand beating them by 53 runs. Nehra bowled the last over of the second innings with 61 runs needed. He became a bit emotional towards the end but tried to control himself. MS Dhoni too can be seen getting emotional whereas Virat Kohli was signalling the crowd to cheer for the ‘local boy’.
