Bangladeshi all-rounder Abdur Razzak met with n accident on June 27 while he was on his car and travelling from Khulna district to Gopalganj. He was with his family at the time of the accident. He and his family members suffered several injuries, however, all of them are currently in stable condition. After initial medical treatments, they are under recovery in a hospital.
According to several media reports, Abdur himself was driving when the accident took place. Among his family members, his wife and two-year-old son, and his nieces and older sister were present in the vehicle. Suddenly one of the tires of the vehicle punctured and Abdur lost the control. The vehicle then fell into a canal by the road-side.
Everyone present in the car suffered some minor injuries and were later assisted by local police.
After Abdul was taken to the hospital, current wicket-keeper of the Bangladesh cricket team and its Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim visited him and then wrote a post on his official Facebook page where he asked Bangladesh fans to send in their good wishes for the cricketer. He wrote,”Our very own Razzak Raz bhai had a severe accident on his way from Khulna. I request you all to pray for him please!!!”
35-year-old Abdur Razzak one of the three Bangladesh bowlers (along with Mashrafe Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan) to take more than 200 wickets in the 50-over format and the third-highest ODI wicket-taker for his country. In 2014, he appeared for the last time in the international circuit which was a T20I against West Indies.
Currently, he is the acting captain of Khulna Division in the National Cricket League and of South Zone in the Bangladesh Cricket League. He even captained Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in this year’s Dhaka Premier League.
