Now, imagine you have an offer letter of a certain company and then when you join the company they say that your offer does not exist, that is exactly the situation World Cup winning team India member Yusuf Pathan had to face after he got the all-clearance from the BCCI, they make a U-turn.
Indian wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik too succumbed to the same fate, who wanted to play the rival Caribbean League. Though Pathan was unavailable for comment, Karthik confirmed that his application was spiked.
According to close BCCI sources we learn that this decision was taken after many players expressed their interest in playing for these rival leagues, this is exactly what prompted BCCI to rethink.
“This would be a good opportunity to get into the groove before the IPL, because international cricketers — Shahid Afridi, Tymal Mills, Darren Sammy to name a few — are playing the tournament. I played the 50-over domestic tournaments in Bangladesh and Kenya after last year’s IPL and the people at the Hong Kong T20 event had been in touch with me for the last three months,” senior Pathan said this when he was permitted to showcase his cricketing skills away from India, means he was given the NOC which has now been cancelled.
Shame on @BCCI. Why doesn’t it allow players to participate in other domestic leagues
