Believe it or not! Virat Kohli finally gets the ‘DRS’ bang on

India v Australia Ranchi Test: Virat Kohli was quick to take the DRS and then the replays showed their was a clear connection of the bat

During the entire home season, Virat Kohli has had a woeful time with the DRS. He has got it wrong on most occasions. But when the time came, he was on the button today at Ranchi after Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. Virat Kohli has also faced the rod for being so poor with his assessment of DRS. The crucial India v Australia is well poised at 1-1 with two massive Tests to go. Australia got off to a rollicking start before losing David Warner, but the event we are talking about is when Virat Kohli opted for a DRS and got it bang on!

Australia were 89/2 with both the openers back in the hut. Ashwin was the bowler and he was wicket-less till then; Jadeja, his spin partner, had already claimed one, hence he had added pressure on him to equal the score. It was a delivery that kept low on Marsh, and he popped it to the backward short leg, where Cheteshwar Pujara took a dolly. All the close in fielders went up in appeal in tandem, but the umpire nodded his head in ‘not out’.

Kohli was quick to take the DRS and then the replays showed that there was a clear connection of the bat. And just like that, Kohli had finally got a DRS right. What a monkey off his back it must be. It just seems there is a shift of tide in this riveting series which still has two chapters to go.
