Blackbuck Case Verdict ‘Too Harsh’, Tweets Shoaib Akhtar After Salman Khan Gets 5-Year Jail

Shoaib Akhtar, legendary Pakistani former speedster, has come up with an emotional message for Bollywood star Salman Khan and his conviction in the 20-year-old blackbuck poaching case. Salman was found guilty by the Jodhpur court on April 05 after which he was slapped with an imprisonment of 5 years. Right after the Chief Judicial Magistrate pronounced the verdict, the 52-year-old actor was taken to the Jodhpur Central Jail.

As the social media was getting flooded with reactions to Salman’s imprisonment, the Rawalpindi Express, who is also a good friend of Salman, posted a message on Twitter. Akhtar expressed his disappointment on this episode and at the same time, he also showed respect to the Indian judiciary system.

Really Sad to see my friend Salman khan sentenced for 5 year But the Law must take its course & we got to respect the decision of honourable court of India but i still think punishment is to harsh but my heart goes to his family & fans ..

Salman Khan was accused of killing two blackbucks in Bhagoda ki Dhani near Jodhpur on the night of October 2, 1998, during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain. Reportedly, he was accompanied by his co-stars including Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari. While Salman has been convicted, the rest of the film actors have been let off.

Currently, a bail plea has been moved to court from Salman’s side. His lawyer claimed that the eyewitness accounts were unreliable and hence, the punishment is too harsh. However, the court has reserved the bail plea hearing has been reserved till Saturday.
