Days after filing a complaint against Australian skipper Steve Smith and batsman Peter Handscomb for hampering the Decision Review System (DRS), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to withdraw the complaint on March 9. Backing Virat Kohli for opposing Steven Smith’s act for referring the dressing room to take a review, the board Lodged an official complaint and put Level 2 charge against Smith and Handscomb for violating the spirit of the game.
Meanwhile, the Australia Cricket (CA) CEO James Sutherland met his Indian counterpart Rahul Johri on March 9 at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai in order to resolve the issue. As decide, both the captains should meet in Ranchi and solve the issue.

In a press release, clarifying the entire issue, stated,”BCCI and CA have resolved to restore focus on the ongoing series amidst the increased attention towards issues which have emanated during the course of the 2nd Test match in Bangalore.”
While addressing the press, Sutherland said,”A series between India and Australia is bound to generate considerable excitement for fans in both the countries. On the field, the two teams are fierce competitors who represent their countries with pride.”
While Rahul Johri said,”India has always cherished a contest with Australia and over the years, the performances of both, the teams and the players, are testimony to the level of competitiveness that exists between these two teams.”
On the fourth day of the second Test match, on March 7, the Australian skipper Steven Smith’s wicket sparked controversy. The controversy will be known as ‘brain fade’ incident as skipper Smith and Peter Handscomb tried to cheat after he was given out leg before wicket by Umesh Yadav. Before taking the review, Smith turned to the pavilion to make sure whether he should review the decision or not.
Virat Kohli noticed this thing and came furiously at Smith while Cheteshwar Pujara tried to block his view. It was Umpire Nigel Llong who noticed it as well and asked Smith to leave the field immediately. The incident not only infuriated Kohli but the former players in the commentary box as well.
