The Caribbean Premier League Finals was a high octane affair as two of the toughest teams, Trinbago Knight Riders and St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots locked horns at the Brian Lara stadium to a packed house. The excitement around the game was huge and it lived up to the billing after the Knights won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Patriots did not get off to the best of starts as they lost their big two Chris Gayle and the ever-so-dangerous Evin Lewis early for 1 and 16. Nobody really got going Braithwaite was the highest scorer as he notched up a quick fire 30 off 25 balls. The Patriots managed to set the Knights a target of 136, which did not look good enough considering the fire power they have in their batting.
The Knights did not get off to a good start as the Patriots, courtesy early wickets made a match out of it. They were reduced to 65 for 4, with Colin Munro still there at the wicket, giving hopes to his team.
But there were two instances in the game that caught our eye in the exciting, thrilling low-scoring encounter.
INSTANCE 1: It happened in the last ball of the Patriots innings when Braithwaite was on strike, he had a wild slog and missed the ball completely. The wicketkeeper caught the ball had a shy at the striker’s end, missed it, the bowler grabbed the ball and had a go at the non-striker’s end, he missed it too. The ball went for over throws and the batsmen managed to scamper for a second run.

INSTANCE 2: The score was 29 for 2 after 5 overs, with the Knights chasing 136 in the mega finale. Mohammad Nabi was the bowler. He bowled one short and got smashed for a six. The next one predictably he over compensated and got hit for a six, Munro had slog-swept it to the cow corner, a couple of sixes gave momentum to the Knights.

As we speak, Trinbago Knight Riders require another 60 runs with 5 wickets and 50 balls remaining.
