Caught on mic! Tips from MS Dhoni to ‘Cheeku’ Virat Kohli proves he is a ‘game-changer’ – Watch

Team India won the second ODI against New Zealand to level the three match series 1-1

Former Indian skipper and wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni, known for finishing matches in style, is in the spotlight again. This time for guiding ‘Cheeku’, Indian captain Virat Kohli, and bowler Kedhar Jadhav. Dhoni’s voice was caught by the stump-mic during the second One Day International (ODI) match against the Kane Williamson-led New Zealand side at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) stadium in Pune on October 25.

In a video shared by Star Sports on their Twitter handle, MS Dhoni can be heard saying: “Cheeku, do-teen jan ko idhar chhor de” (send 2-3 people here).

Dhoni, who stepped down as captain of India’s limited-overs team in January 2017, was also heard asking Kohli to reset the field.

“Cheeku, ek ball aur rakhegaa, ek ball jo pehle rakhaa tha mein catch ke liye.” Dhoni referred to the ball on which a catching chance was created earlier.

Team India, won the second ODI to level the series 1-1. After tasting defeat in the first ODI held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on October 22, Virat Kohli-led ‘Men in Blue’ thrashed Kiwis by 6 wickets.

Earlier, the BlackCaps won the toss and elected to bat first. In their quota of 50 overs, Black Caps could only manage 230/9 runs. Indian bowlers bowled really well to restrict the Kiwis to such a low total. In reply, Indian batsmen batted superbly as they chased down the target with 24 balls to spare.

Both the teams will now face each other in the decider third ODI at Kanpur on October 29. The Kiwi team will create history if they win the third ODI as they have never won any bilateral ODI series on Indian soil.
