England took on New Zealand yesterday in a ICC Champions Trophy 2017 group match. England won the match by 87 runs. The English top order seems to be in red-hot form sans Jason Roy, who got out cheaply in both the games. Joe Root on the other hand is in the form of his life and that makes England a force to reckon with in the tournament. Joe Root played a fine hand in their victory yesterday by scoring 64 off 65 balls. Ben Stokes too played well only to miss out on a fifty by a whisker, he was dismissed for 48.
But the moment we are looking at is when Ben Stokes nearly got his partner at the other end, Joe Root out. Oh yes, it could have been the biggest disaster for England. The score was 162 for 3, England had lost Morgan cheaply and were looking at stitching up a partnership.

Neesham was bowling to Ben Stokes. The ball was pitched up, Stokes took his front foot out to drive the ball straight back down the ground, he timed the ball well as it hit the middle of the bat. It was hit so straight that it hit the wickets at the other end after Neesham had got his fingertips to the ball. Root was backing up but luckily not too much. The umpire went to the third umpire after there was an appeal. But the replays showed that Root had made his ground in the nick of time.
