Pakistan won the toss and put India the defending champions in to bat, in a placid Edgbaston wicket. This is the opener for both the teams in this ICC Champions Trophy 2017. India got off to a sedate start, thanks to Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. The rain interrupted play though the predictions of a mild shower was for later on. It was surprising to see Pakistan opt to bowl on such a good batting surface and then to start with Imad the left arm spinner was surprising again. The Indian fans were there in numbers at the Edgbaston like they are all across the world.
