Just one day to go for India vs Pakistan’s much-awaited ICC Champions Trophy 2017 clash, ahead of the game Team India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya talks to the press about the game. Pandya surprised everyone by saying that he considers it as a ‘normal game’ despite the hype that has been following around for months for the India vs Pakistan fixture. Instead, Pandya is focused on his team’s performance and playing the ‘best cricket’.
Pandya said, “I think we as a team gonna take it as a normal game. It’s best that we don’t add any unnecessary pressure on ourselves. I feel that it will be a normal game. We are gonna make sure we play the best cricket.”

This statement was quite conflicting with what he had to say in a video shared by Star Sports, in which he shared his experience as a 17-year-old boy during the ICC World Cup 2011. He shared how he went on to streets in the middle of the night and enjoyed the celebrations of India’s win like a festival.
Pandya has been going through a purple patch in 2017 and has already been dubbed as the ‘new finisher’ for Team India by many. He was brilliant with his finishing skills in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 for Mumbai Indians (MI) as well. He has been in fantastic form with both bat and ball. He recently scored a quickfire 80 off 54 balls.
Pandya’s selection in the playing XI is almost certain with his batting down the order and his bowling skills keeping in mind the English pitch conditions.
