South African skipper AB de Villiers did not do well with the bat as he got out after scoring just 4 runs but that does not mean he cannot make an impact in the game. De Villiers showed his ‘Superman’ fielding to get the better of Sri Lanka as they were beaten comprehensively by a margin of 96 runs. Apart from Imran Tahir’s rampant spell, it was De Villiers’ inhuman fielding skills that broke the back of Sri Lankan beating lineup as they bundled out for 203. De Villiers took the catch of in-form batsman Kusal Mendis and affected the runout of Dinesh Chandimal.
Even after Niroshan Dickwella’s wicket, Upul Tharanga was keeping the required run rate low as Mendis was trying to play himself in but De Villiers had other plans. Mendis flicked the ball towards short midwicket of Chris Morris’ delivery.

Mendis could not clear the short midwicket fielder as De Villiers jumped high in the air and plucked one out of thin air with one hand. That sent the ball rolling as Sri Lankan batting lineup had started to crumble.
De Villiers did not just stop there and gave Sri Lankans a double blow, this time it with even better fielding skills. Even after misfielding the ball on covers as Chandimal pushed the ball through covers, he managed to pull off a marvelous runout.
Soon after misfielding the ball, De Villiers rushed towards it and threw the ball jumping in the air as soon as he recollected it. Chandimal found himself well short of the crease and departing for a duck. He managed to pull off a magnificent runout even after misfielding the ball.
