India is locking horns with arch rivals Pakistan, which is touted as the ‘mother of all clashes’ is being played at Edgbaston in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Rain has currently stopped play, after Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. India’s Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan got off to a healthy start, without the loss of a wicket. India was just shifting gears when play was called off, which seems to be in favour of Pakistan. Navjot Singh Sidhu, a former Indian cricketer who has been there seen it all spoke to a Indian media and said.
“My best wishes are with the Indian team. It will be a great honour if team India wins the match against Pakistan,” quoted Navjot Singh Sidhu as per the quotes in the Deccan Chronicle.
“Jahan desh ki saakh ka sawaal hota hai, wahan agar Pakistan se match jeet jaao toh aisa samjho Ganga naha liye, sare paap dhul jate hai (When the question is about nation’s prestige, then beating Pakistan would be like taking a bath in the holy Ganga and washing off your sins),” conceded the former Indian cricketer.

Should he have said it it or not is a debate we should take up another day, today, it should be cricket over everything else. as everything else can wait for it. Virat Kohli has said it over and over again that they are treating it as any other game and hence it should not be blown out of proportion.
