India’s star all-rounder Yuvraj Singh returns the squad to prepare for ICC Champions Trophy 2017 after suffering from illness. Yuvraj was not involved in the preparations and the first warm-up game against New Zealand because of fever. The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) made it clear on May 29 evening that he is back into the side with a tweet, “Keep Calm – the Prince is BACK ! @YUVSTRONG12 #TeamIndia #CT17”. There were also speculations that the injury he suffered during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
According to BCCI official, “There are no major health concerns and Yuvraj is recuperating well, to the satisfaction of the medical team”. Yuvraj’s comeback will have an impact on the side’s performance as he can play the fast bowling well in England. He likes the ball come onto the bat and will be an asset to the side as the tournament progresses.

Yuvraj performed well in the previous ODI series against England at home as he scored his career best 150. He got rewarded for his form in IPL 2017 and got a berth in the side. Along with the 35-year-old, Rohit Sharma too will be returning to the side for the warm-up game against Bangladesh on May 30. Rohit joined the squad later on as he was busy with personal commitments. If Yuvraj plays in the warm-up game, it will help him adapt the pitch conditions in England & Wales before the much-awaited India vs Pakistan clash on June 4. Team India will need vintage Yuvraj to play against Pakistan and tackle their fast bowling.
