Earlier, Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bowl first. Just like the previous game, he anticipated the pit and weather conditions very well and took a good decision. Bangladeshi openers Tamil Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar opened the innings but they had an early loss in the form of Soumya Sarkar who lost his wicket in the first over itself and was out for a duck. Later, Tamim Iqbal and wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim handled the situation and gave the much-needed push by scoring their fifties. But later, their run scoring frequency turned low and they managed to put just 264 runs on the scoreboard after losing 7 wickets.
