For the first time in the history of ICC tournaments, Bangladesh has reached the semi-final phase and now they will India on 15th June at Edgbaston. After defeating New Zealand by 5 wickets and eliminating them from the race, the Bengal Tigers have shined like never before. meanwhile, the entire team is happy with this feat and so is the skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza. However, he made a strange request to their fans ahead of their next big game. Mortaza has asked the fans not to expect something very high from them.
According to a report in the Times of India, he stated that the moment is historic for them but at the same time, he has asked the fans to lower their expectations. He said:
“Something big has happened to us and for our cricket. But I’ll request everybody not to expect that we would win the title. It’s a competition where world’s top 8 teams fight and it’s much more challenging than world cups. So, being in the Semi-Finals is an achievement for us and a reward for our continuous effort towards our game improvement.”
