Ahead of the Champions Trophy 2017, several people across the country had one common question in their minds that why Shikhar Dhawan is again selected in the team. Moreover, many Twitterati trolled him and his selection on the social media and made fun of this Indian cricketer. However, when the perfect time arrived, Dhawan didn’t hesitate to return it back and shut up all his critics through his bat. In the India vs Pakistan game of the Champions Trophy 2017 on June 4, Dhawan played a phenomenal inning of 68 runs of 65 balls and provided the perfect start to the Indian inning with Rohit Sharma.
Despite having a slow start, Dhawan kept his cool intact and waited for the perfect slot play his favourite shots. Meanwhile, the rain also held up the game but soon the play was resumed and the duo of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan were back on the track.
Both of them shifted the gear of scoring runs and were within no time, reached their respective fifties. Shikhar Dhawan scored his fifty in 48 balls and after that, he continued his monstrous batting ahead. Unfortunately, in the 25th over, Dhawan tried to play another big shot but was caught by Azhar Ali and he has to return pavilion after having scored 68 of 65 balls which included 1 six and 6 fours.
