His presence in team India was one of the strongest factors against Pakistan in the first game of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 on June 4 in Edgbaston. Though he scared us when he felt sick and couldn’t play the first practice match against New Zealand. But he is a true warrior who knows what has to be done when it’s his game. Against Pakistan, he came, thrashed and Punished the Pakistani bowlers, scored 29 balls 50 and calmly left. Yes, we are talking about Yuvraj Singh.
After Rohit Sharma’s abrupt exit, Yuvi came on the field at number four and joined skipper Virat Kohli. By the time, the team total was 192 for 2 in 36.4 overs and India strongly needed more runs on the scoreboard. Now at the crease, it was a right hand-left hand batsmen combination who took the charge to score. Both of them played their part with complete dedication. Moreover, happiness was watching Yuvraj playing fearlessly against the arch rivals. Gradually, Yuvi reached his fifty in just 29 balls but his stint came to an end after he was dismissed Hasan Ali as he was given LBW out.
Yuvi provided the much-needed momentum to the team and after hitting 1 six and 6 fours, he ended up scoring 5 of 32 balls in a crucial game like this. Twitter was already on fire and after watching Yuvraj’s monstrous knock, they couldn’t stop themselves hailing India’s one of the most favourite cricketers.
Few can counter Yuvraj Singh’s moderated aggression in one-day cricket. Beautiful to watch.
