Former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal became a butt of jokes on social media site Twitter after he copied the status of the Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara’s and posted the same on his Twitter handle to celebrate Pakistan’s victory over England in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2017 semi-final clash on June 14.

Pakistan on June 15 became the first team to enter the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 tournament after thrashing hosts England by eight wickets in the first semi-final at the Sophia Gardens at Cardiff.

Impressed with all-round performance of the Pakistani squad, former Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara took to his Twitter handle to congratulate their victory. Sri Lankan wrote: “Great win by @TheRealPCB. To come back from the first game against india and now make a final by beating england shows great character.”

According to the reports, ex-Pakistani spinner Saeed Ajmal after a gap of 15 minutes copied Kumar Sangakkar’s status and pasted it on his wall. “Great win by Pakistan To come back from the first game against india and now make a final by beating england shows great character,” Saeed Ajmal wrote, similar to Sangakkar’s status.

Chasing a below-par 212, the Green Brigade rode on a brilliant 118-run opening stand between Azhar Ali (76) and Fakhar Zaman (57) to became the first finalist of this years Champions Trophy. Earlier, Pakistan bowlers led by Hasan Ali put up a quality display to restrict England to 211 runs in 49.5 overs. Ali was complimented well by Juniad Khan and debutant Rumman Raees, who chipped in with two wickets each.

Pakistan will now play the winner of the second semi-final between India and Bangladesh, on June 18.
