Indian skipper Virat Kohli is keeping an eye out for everyone in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and this tweet is a proof of it as he lauds Ben Stokes for his batting against Australian pacer Pat Cummins. Stokes scored his first century in Champions Trophy as he rescued his team from the defeat of the jobs alongside England skipper Eoin Morgan who put up a partnership of 159 runs for the fourth wicket after England were reduced for 3 for 35 by Australia’s bowling attack.
Stokes played many wonderful shots off Australian bowlers. Though Kohli did not mention which shot was he talking about as he referred to it as a ‘ridiculous’ shot. He felt that it was one of the best shot he has seen in a while. One can only imagine which shot was he talking about but Stokes’ shot off Cummins in the 31st over, comes a bit close to it.
That was a ridiculous shot by @benstokes38 off Cummins. One of the best shots I’ve seen for a while!

In the 31st over, Cummins came back into the attack and Stokes was on strike. It was a full and wide delivery from Cummins whose length Stokes picked quite early. Stokes pounced on it as he got on one knee and played it over covers with a streaming drive. The shot was pretty much mesmerising to everyone and it could be the shot which Kohli referred to as ridiculous.

England paved the way for Bangladesh as they knocked out Australia out of the tournament. Bangladesh will be playing their first semi-final in the history of the tournament. They made a comeback in the tournament this year after a long wait of 11 years as they were placed 6th in the ICC ODI Rankings at the cut-off time.
