Sarfaraz Ahmed-led Pakistani team on June 18 created history by beating arch-rivals Indian by 180-run to lift their maiden Champions Trophy title at the Oval in London. The south Asian nation claimed their third ICC tournament, having earlier won the 50-over World Cup in 1992 and the World Twenty20 in 2009. Soon after they emerged winners, Pakistani fans gathered outside the Oval ground started celebrating by dancing and chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.
Interestingly, in a celebratory video which has gone viral on social media sites, a London cop, posted at the venue to control the ecstatic crowd, started dancing along with the Pakistani fans. This London cop is making waves with his impressive dance moves.
Pakistan, who entered in the tournament as ranked eight team, had opened the group stage campaign with a huge loss of 124 runs via Duckworth-Lewis (D/L) method against India. But they turned it around in style as they topped South Africa (19 runs via D/L method), and Sri Lanka (three wickets) to enter the semi-finals where they got the better of hosts England by eight wickets.
They didn’t stop there as they came out with their best show in the final to bag their first Champions Trophy title.
