David Miller scored the fastest T20I century in the second T20I against Bangladesh and broke South African batsman Richard Levi’s record of 45-ball-century. Miller was ahead of Levi by a huge margin. The left-handed batsman reached his maiden T20I century in just 35 balls. Miller powered his way through the innings with 7 fours and 9 sixes. The Proteas batsman stole the show when he played with fury on the pitch and struck five sixes in a row off Mohammad Saifuddin’s deliveries in the 19th over. But he fell short of scoring six sixes in the over as on the final ball he scored just 1 run. Though Miller turned Saifuddin’s bowling figures upside down as he gave 22 runs from 3 overs and picked up 2 wickets before bowling the final over.
Miller had scored 57 runs from 25 balls before the 19th over.
First ball from Saifuddin, Miller backed up into the crease and hit it over long on for a maximum. An approach like this was expected from Miller as South Africa were looking to go over 200 in the first innings.
Second ball, Saifuddin bowled it full and wide in an attempt to hit the blockhole. Miller was hanging back at the crease. He got underneath the ball and hit it over for extra cover. A proper cricketing shot from ‘Killer-Miller’.
Third ball, Saifuddin’s line faltered this time. He bowled full but way down the leg stump. Miller gave it a mere flick but the ball still went over the deep square leg boundary for a maximum. At that point, it seemed like Miller was playing a video game using cheat codes.
Here’s the video of Miller hitting 5 sixes in a row –

Fourth ball, Saifuddin bowled a similar line and length. This time Miller flicked it off his pads, but with a better follow-through. Another maximum for Miller over deep square leg.
Fifth ball, Saifuddin was way more predictable in the 19th over trying to bowl full and hit the blockhole. This time he went with the short ball. Miller hit the short ball from outside off and hit over the mid-wicket for the fifth maximum in a row.
Miller’s reaction after scoring his maiden T20I century –
How’s that?! 101* from 36 balls! #Watch what @DavidMillerSA12 had to say about that special, record-breaking knock. #ProteaFire pic.twitter.com/bggXuRCK9t

Sixth ball, Miller was gearing up for a perfect finish to the over to make it six in six. Saifuddin bowled a delivery which was full and almost wide. This time Miller could not get underneath it as it hit the toe-end of the bat. A single off the last ball towards long off as Miller ended up scoring 31 runs from the 19th over.
South Africa won the series and whitewashed Bangladesh in all formats of the game.
