It is that time of the year when good players of India are divided in colours– red, blue and green. In the past players like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly have also played the Deodhar trophy. Some like Sreesanth and etc came to the fore on the back of his good performances in the tournament. Rohit Sharma and Parthiv Patel have been named captains of blue and red sides respectively. Harbhajan Singh is also making a comeback after an impressive performance in the Vijay Hazare trophy. Big names like Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be missing out as they will be rested and Suresh Raina exclusion actually raises eyebrows about his future in limited overs cricket.
The format is a wee-bit different this time around as the third team in the tournament will be Vijay Hazare champions Tamil Nadu, they are a potent unit alright! Dinesh Karthik will be keeping wickets for the Tamil Nadu unit. Parthiv will be the other keeper and Rishabh Pant will be keeping wickets for the blues. Young and promising Ishan Kishan will have to miss out due to a calf niggle.
