The Muslims all across the world are celebrating Id-ul-Zuha on September 2. The festival which is also known as Bakr-Id is the second of the two Muslim holidays celebrated worldwide each year. As per the Islamic traditions, Eid al-Adha is celebrated two days after the beginning of the Haj pilgrimage. Id-ul-Zuha or Eid al-Adha begins with a prayer of two rakats, followed by a sermon. The start of this festival depends on the sighting of the new crescent moon. It begins on the 10th day of one of the holiest months of the Islam calendar.

This festival honours the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son, as an act of obedience to God’smmand. In commemoration of this, an animal is sacrificed and divided into three parts — one-third of the share is given to the poor and needy; another third is given to relatives, friends and neighbours; and the remaining third is retained by the family.
Meanwhile, people from the cricket fraternity wished the world ‘Eid Mubarak’ on this auspicious occasion. Several players took to their social media handles to share photos of their Eid celebration. Indian bowler Irfan Pathan shared a picture with his father while former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif shared a picture where he could be seen with his family. Have a look how the social media is buzzing with wishes of Eid-ul-Zuha:
