Opener Fakhar Zaman becomes the first Pakistan batsman to score a double hundred in ODIs. Zaman went past former Pakistan cricketer Saeed Anwar’s highest individual score 194, with his double century. He is the 6th batsman overall and second left-handed cricketer to score a double century in ODIs. He took 149 balls to reach the milestone. He remained unbeaten scoring 210 runs from 156 deliveries including 24 fours and 5 sixes at a strike rate of 134.62.
Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq shared the highest first wicket partnership in the history of ODI cricket. The Pakistani openers put on 304 runs on the board before Imam got out in the 43rd over. They broke the 12-year-old record of Sri Lankan openers Upul Tharanga and Sanath Jayasuriya’s partnership of 286 runs.
This is also the fourth highest partnership in ODI cricket for any wicket. Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels hold the record (372 runs) scored against Zimbabwe.

Imam scored his third century in his 8th innings thus becoming the fastest to score 3 ODI Centuries from Debut (in terms of innings). Former England cricketers Kevin Pietersen & Dennis Amiss both took 9 innings each to score their first three centuries. Imam scored 113 runs from 122 deliveries including just 8 boundaries.

The 28-year-old had an average of 59.23 before the game. With a double hundred he has taken his ODI average to 75 plus. Pakistan scored 399 for 1 which is their highest score in an innings. The previous highest innings score for them was 385 for 7 against Bangladesh in 2010.
