Afghan spinner Rashid Khan has been a favourite in T20 leagues across the world. Rashid has played in Indian Premier League (IPL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Big Bash League (Australia), Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Rashid made his T20 Blast debut for Sussex on August 1, 2018, and made an impact straightaway.
The 19-year-old scored just 1 run when he came to bat but his leg spin was no match for the Gloucestershire batsmen. He came in to bowl in the fifth over and got the breakthrough by dismissing skipper Michael Klinger with a jaffa of a delivery. He got another wicket right after the powerplay by cleaning up Ian Cockbain’s stumps with a googly.
Here’s the video of the two wickets:
Rashid had fans wildly cheering for him at County Ground, Hove.

Rashid did not just take two wickets but was economical as well. The leg-spinner gave just 14 runs in his four-over spell which is considered excellent in the T20 format. However, Sussex still lost the game as they posted a target of just 128 runs which was chased down by Gloucestershire with 10 balls to spare.

Sussex are currently in fourth place on the points table with three wins from 6 games. With Rashid joining the team, they will have the X-factor which might make the table topper as the tournament progresses. Rashid is known for single-handedly winning the matches for his team in the shortest format of the game.
