Harmanpreet Kaur’s marvelous 171* off 115 balls is worth all the adulation and recognition. In other words, she has batted India to the all-important finals. Her innings was studded with 20 fours and 7 sixes. It was a innings that greats compared to the one Kapil Dev played in the 1983 World Cup. She came in when India had lost both their openers and were looking to stitch a partnership together. She initially took her time to get her eye in, but once she got a hang of the wicket, she took on the Australian bowlers.
But what we saw was purely magical on Twitter. The best of cricketers in the world could not hold back from ushering praise for the 28-year-old batter. Some of the commentators were heard comparing her with Yuvraj Singh. They called her the right-handed Yuvraj.
If that was not enough legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag also took to Twitter to congratulate the young lady. India won the match by 36 runs and now they would be gearing up for the finals where they lock-horns with hosts England. Just to draw your memory back, India had defeated the English side in their tournament opener. In that match Smriti Mandhana scored 90.
