Harmanpreet Kaur is known for her batting skills—hitting the ball hard and scoring boundaries as short as the 30-yard-circle on the ground. In her third Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) season 2017 match between Sydney Thunders and Melbourne Stars, Harmanpreet impressed everyone with her bowling skills. The off-spinner took three wickets in the match and ended up with the best bowling figures in her team.
Here are the three wickets Harmanpreet took –
First wicket, Katie Mack: Harmanpreet got a wicket off the first ball of her spell in the match. She was introduced in the 11th over and answered to the captain’s call. Mack tried to sweep the ball towards deep square leg but was trapped in front of the stumps.

Second wicket, Alana King: Harmanpreet’s first spell was a match-defining one. She gave just 12 runs from 3 overs and picked up a wicket. During her spell, the boundaries dried up. She was brought back into the attack to bowl the final over. King tried to go for a big shot on the penultimate over of Melbourne Stars’ innings.
The 28-year-old did not offer much pace on the ball. King hit the ball in the air but without much power to the shot. She was caught in the deep mid-wicket by Rene Farrell. Kaur broke the partnership of 41 runs for the seventh wicket.
