How Virat Kohli’s Edgbaston Test Century Is A Slap To Trolls Who Shamed Anushka In 2014

Virat ‘King’ Kohli who achieved his maiden test century on the England soil celebrated it in the most adorable way. The captain took off his gloves and kissed his wedding ring tied to the necklace he was wearing, paying a tribute to wife Anushka Sharma.

Even though Virat maintained that he was not proving his batting abilities to anyone but his century was indeed an incredible fightback.

In his last England tour, trolls crossed the line while criticising Kohli and calling his then-girlfriend the root cause of his poor performance.

After the dismal show in England, he was labelled as a player who can only perform in subcontinent conditions. Every time Kohli failed, trolling Anushka became quite a norm on Twitter.

Exasperated, the Indian skipper shared a post on Instagram shaming the trolls who though it was legit to blame Anushka.

Shame on those people who have been having a go at anushka for the longest time and connecting every negative thing to her. Shame on those people calling themselves educated. Shame on blaming and making fun of her when she has no control over what i do with my sport. If anything she has only motivated and given me more positivity. This was long time coming. Shame on these people that hide and take a dig. And i dont need any respect for this post. Have some compassion and respect her. Think of how your sister or girlfriend or wife would feel if someone trolled them and very conveniently rubbished them in public. #nocompassion#nocommonsense

Even Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) failure in previous two Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons was again directed towards the power couple.

The trolls were in no mood to go easy as India’s tour of England 2018 came near. His every movement off the pitch was pointed out. Some even went to question WAGS travelling with the team, but we guess the trolls have their answer now.
