The eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is almost two months away but the excitement among cricket fans is rising day by day. The return of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) is another reason why the forthcoming season of this cash-rich tournament is going to have all the attention. In the mega-auction held in January, CSK bought a team which looks like a classic squad on the paper.
Veterans like MS Dhoni, Faf du Plessis, Harbhajan Singh etc will be part of the team. South African spinner Imran Tahir has also got an opportunity to play under Dhoni’s leadership and ahead of the tournament, he is working on his Tamil speaking skills as well.
Tahir is currently accompanying his national team which is playing a 6-match ODI series against India at home. Meanwhile, he shared a picture with on his Twitter account in which he could be seen with South Africa team’s analyst Prasanna Lara. Through his post, Tahir revealed that he has been learning the Tamil language and Prasanna is his teacher.
Here’s the tweet:

The 28-year-old veteran spinner has been bought for Rs 1 crore and will be sharing the dressing room with MS Dhoni yet again after their previous two seasons together where they played for Rising Pune Supergiants. However, in the current ODI series, Tahir has failed to impress fans with his bowling. He found a place in the playing XI in the first three ODIs as the lone regular spinner but couldn’t create any difference. He has managed to take only one wicket so far and was dropped from the Pink ODI.
