India remain the undisputed leader in ICC Test Rankings while Australia take a huge hit

Australia suffered in ICC Test Rankings after losing to Bangladesh in the first Test, though they did not slide down because of the win in the second Test

India have won every Test series since their tour of Sri Lanka in 2015. They have been dominating the longest format of the game, crushing one team after another. India have managed to win 8 Test series on the trot, both in the backyard as well as on their tours. The Indian team is on the top of ICC Test rankings with 125 rating points, 15 more than the second team on the list, South Africa. While the Indian cricket under skipper Virat Kohli is flourishing in the Test format, the Australian side led by Steve Smith is struggling to live up to their name.

After losing to Bangladesh for the first time in the first match of the Test series, their ratings have taken a huge hit. Australia have slipped down one place in the rankings and is now at the No 5 spot. The team faced a reality check and improved upon their play to win the second Test, which gradually saved them from dipping further in the rankings. Australia has 97 rating points, the same as New Zealand who is in the fourth spot.

India remain on the top after winning the Test series against Sri Lanka, whitewashing the hosts by 3-0. They are followed by South Africa (110 rating points) and England (105 rating points).

Bangladesh gained 5 points after a drawn series with Australia at home. They have been consistently improving their play as well as rising in stature. With 74 rating points on their side, they are expected to rise further in the rankings. Bangladesh are currently placed at No.9, just one point behind West Indies.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka are positioned in the 5th and 6th spot with 93 and 90 rating points respectively. Pakistan are yet to play a Test after their triumph in ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Zimbabwe features at the bottom of the table, having qualified to play in the Tests once again.
