As the Indian U-19 team qualified for quarter-finals in the ongoing U-19 World Cup in New Zealand, Indian vice-captain Shubhman Gill, pulled all stops to win the last group stage match against Zimbabwe. Gill scored a phenomenal 90 runs off just 59 balls and guided the team to the next level while batting alongside wicket-keeper Harvik Desai (56).
Gill hit thirteen boundaries and a six and played with a strike rate of 152.54. Throughout his stint at the crease, Gill played some mind-blowing shots, but one of them left viewers stunned. In the 14th over of the game, the right-handed batsman hit Nkosilathi Nungu for a six over mid-wicket with a short-arm jab. This particular shot is usually played by Indian captain Virat Kohli. He played that shot last year against England in an ODI game.

With some of more power hitting by Gill and Desai, the Indian colts managed an easy win over Zimbabwe and ended being the table topper in their group. India U-19 team is one of three teams (including New Zealand and England) to have all the matches of their group.
