Watch: India v Australia Test 2017, lunch report: Warner out, Renshaw ill, Oz reeling at 84/1

Umesh Yadav coming around the wickets gets David Warner to play on of the front foot only to get an inside edge onto the stumps, dismissed for 37.

India were already on the back foot once they lost the oh-so important toss as the pitch is a minefield and India have to bat last. The ball as expected started spinning and beating the bat from the very first hour. Australian openers David Warner and Matthew Renshaw, , who were not in the best of forms saw off the new ball, they did not dent it. There were some that passed the bat but they survived on thin ice. What was surprising was Virat Kohli gave the ball to Ravichandran Ashwin in the second over itself. Ashwin looked to hit the right lines without a lot of purchase. Slowly but surely, Warner grew in confidence and so did the run rate.

Jayant Yadav tough got David Warner bowled on one occasion but it was a no-ball, strange to see a spinner overstepping. There were close moments with the lbw but they were close.

Ummm… So it appears Renshaw has left the field retired – not out after the wicket of Warner. Shaun Marsh walks out. Confusion! #INDvAUS

Finally in the last half hour of play Umesh Yadav was given a fairly old 27-overs old ball. Umesh Yadav coming around the wickets gets David Warner to play on of the front foot only to get an inside edge onto the stumps, dismissed for 37. Australia are finding it really hard after Renshaw retired ill.
