Virat Kohli-led team India managed their 3rd consecutive win against Australia at Indore, taking an unassailable 3-0 lead in the 5-match One Day International series. Hardik Pandya starred for India with the bat scoring 78 to bag the man of the match. India won the 3rd ODI at Indore with 5 wickets and 13 balls to spare, in the process winning their last 9 ODI’s, which is a joint best record and streak as a captain. Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma also made brilliant 70 and 71 respectively. laying the platform for the win.
Earlier in the day, Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. Apart from Aaron Finch, no one went on to get a big one. Finch scored 124 runs, Smith was the only other batsman who showed some application, but he too departed for 63. Australia was finally bundled out for 293, whereas at a certain point of time they looked good to go past 330. India got off to its best start of the tournament as Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma took the Australian bowlers to the cleaners. Rohit also hit a towering six off Kane Richardson which went out of the ground, it was a 103-metre hit. India won the match comfortably, thanks to a brilliant 78 by Hardik Pandya. Virat Kohli departed against the run of play for 28 runs, to a miscalculated extra cover drive. Manish Pandey remained not out on 36, guiding India home to a famous win.

After the match was over, the players of team India got together to celebrate the moment. They cut a cake, it was a chocolate cake. Hardik Pandya was the one who started the cake cutting ceremony only to see Virat Kohli join in and help him.
