Birthday girl and Bollywood’s leading lady Kareena Kapoor Khan has revealed the cricketer she is awed by. Well, surprisingly, it is not Mahendra Singh Dhoni, instead, it is the Indian captain Virat Kohli, whom she admires. Kareena Kapoor is celebrating her birthday on 21st September and in an interview to India.com, she revealed this. Virat Kohli is currently leading the Indian team against Australia, which promises to be a humdinger of a series. India have already taken a 1-0 lead and now they are playing at Kolkata, where chances of rain hover.
“I love the way Virat plays. He is my favourite,” Kareena said, before going on to compare Kohli with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. “Isn’t he already the next Sachin Tendulkar? After all, he’s the reason why we are winning so many matches in succession,” Kareena was quoted as saying by India.com.
Recently, actress Disha Patani had revealed that she wanted to go on a date with Virat Kohli.
Kareena Kapoor’s love for the game is pretty evident as her husband Saif Ali Khan had also placed a bid for an IPL team.
Kareena also happens to be the daughter-in-law of former Indian captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi who led India in 40 of the 46 Tests he would go on to play.
Virat Kohli has been in ominous form, hence Kareena’s admiration for the cricketer is justified. It would also be interesting to see how Anushka Sharma reacts to this piece of news. Virat Kohli also notched up his 30th century recently and has made his intentions clear, the fact that he is already planning for the 2019 cricket World Cup.
