After beating Australia in the first T20I in Ranchi, the Indian cricket team has arrived in Guwahati for the second match of the series to be played on October 10 at the Barsapara Stadium. The Men in Blue are already leading the series by 1-0 while the Aussies need to find a way to be back on track after their captain, Steven Smith was ruled out of the series due to a shoulder injury.
Meanwhile, the members of the Indian cricket team received an amazing welcome after they landed in Assam. The players were greeted with Assamese traditional conical hat known as ‘Jaapi’ and a muffler like cloth called “Gamosa”. The stars of Team India were highly delighted with this traditional reception. Indian star opener Shikhar Dhawan took to his official Instagram handle to share the picture in which he could be seen donning the Jaapi and Gamosa.

After 7 years, Guwahati is going to host an International limited overs game. Also, this will be the first T20I match which will be played on October 10 at the Barsapara Stadium. Earlier in 2010, India played New Zealand in Nehru Stadium which India won by 40 runs.
In the previous match, the rain played a massive spoilsport and made the Aussies upset as the target for India was revised according to DLS method. Amid India’s dangerous bowling attack, the Aussies managed to score 118 runs in 18.4 overs before heavy shower stopped the game. For India, the target was minimised to 48 runs which were needed to be chased in just 6 overs.
Skipper Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan played a good inning to take the game home.
