India beat Australia by 9 wickets to clinch the 1st T20I, with 3 balls to spare. It was a convincing win for India, as all the departments fired and contributed to the win. From here, it will be very difficult for Australia minus Steve Smith to make a comeback in the series. This also happens to be India’s seventh consecutive T20I win against Australia. Virat Kohli-led team India won the toss and opted to field, keeping DLS in mind. Australia lost David Warner early and that set them back. They could only manage 118 for 8 when rain interrupted proceedings. With rain persisting, Australia did not have to come out and face the 8 remaining balls. From India, Bumrah and Kuldeep picked up 2 wickets apiece.
Thanks to the Duckworth Lewis method, India were set a target of 48 in 6 overs, which did not look difficult at all. Yet India lost Rohit Sharma early, but that is when Virat joined state-mate Shikhar to take India home to victory and provide a 1-0 lead in the series. Virat and Shikhar remained not out on 22 and 15 respectively.
Once India won the match handsomely, praises and congratulatory messages started pouring in and Virender Sehwag and VVS Laxman were leading the bandwagon.

We played seven over games in between shots while filming #ShubhMangalSaavdhan. This #INDvAUS match was a shorter version. Sigh.

The second T20I will be played on 10th October and a couple of tweaks in the batting line up or changes can be expected.
