Despite heavy rains played a spoilsport during the first India vs Australia T20I match in Ranchi, the men in blue were lucky enough to take the game home by 9 wickets. The local crowd was delighted to witness Team India’s victory but the main attraction was watching Mahendra Singh Dhoni playing at his home ground. Amid speculations that the game might get cancelled due to rain, a huge crowd of people arrived at the Jharkhand Cricket Association (JCA) Stadium on October 7 to support and cheer for the men in blue, especially DHONI!

Before the start of the match, the Indian players entered into the field for a warm-up session. The moment the spectators saw the local boy, MS Dhoni, they started chanting “Dhoni-Dhoni” in unison. This entire action was captured on camera and the video was shared by the BCCI on its official Twitter handle with a caption,”Welcome to ‘Dhoniland’ for the first T20I.”

Indian cricket team has a hundred per cent record in T20Is against Australia while playing at home. Both the sides have locked horns 3 times on the Indian soil where India have won all the three of them.

With today’s victory, India are leading the 3-match T20I series by 1-0. The next match is scheduled to be played on October 10 in Guwahati followed by the final game on October 13 in Hyderabad.
