Team India got a wake-up call in Guwahati T20I as they lost comprehensively to Australia owing to an ordinary batting display

Team India could not do well in the second T20I and were outclassed by the Australians in every department of the game. Australia won the game by 8 wickets with a considerable number of balls to spare. David Warner & Co. kept themselves alive in the three-match T20I series. Jason Behrendorff bowled a dream spell to rattle India’s top order and put an immense amount of pressure on them. Moises Henriques and Travis Head ensured that there were no hiccups after the initial wickets helping the team to win the match easily. Henriques-Head did not let the spin bowlers dominate as they were struggling to grip the ball due to dew factor coming into play.

1. 4/16 by Behrendorff is the best for an Aussie bowler against India in T20Is.

Behrendorff extracted good pace from the pitch and attacked the Indian batsmen with his inswingers which got the better of two Indian batsmen. His spell set the tone for the Aussies to dominate the hosts.

2. Lowest score at the fall of the 4th wicket for India:
20 v Aus, MCG, 2008
23 v Aus, Bridgetown, 2010
26 v NZ, Nagpur, 2016
27 v Aus, Guwahati, 2017

Indian top order rarely falters to this extent. When something like this happens it’s always tough for Indian batting lineup to make a comeback. That’s what happened in the second T20I.

4. The number of innings taken by Dhoni to get stump out in T20Is:

69 innings (80 matches)

Dhoni was outfoxed by his Rising Pune Supergiants teammate in the same way the wicketkeeper had got the better of many world-class batsmen. The technique is to bowl just short of the good length and draw the batsman forward. This leaves ample amount for the wicketkeeper to stump the batsman out if he misses the ball. This is the reason why Dhoni was disappointed in himself as he got stumped out for the first time in T20Is.
